Employee Relations Advisor

About the role

We are partnering with an award‑winning higher education institution to recruit an Employee Relations Advisor on a six‑month fixed‑term contract. The role is full‑time, based in Hertfordshire, and offers a hybrid working model with the majority of days worked from home.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert employee‑relations advice to managers on disciplinary, grievance, absence and performance issues.
• Monitor, coordinate and record incoming employee‑relations cases, ensuring timely and accurate outcomes.
• Manage multiple concurrent cases while maintaining detailed documentation.
• Support managers through formal investigations and, when required, assist with employment tribunal matters.

Required profile

• Recent experience in a unionised public‑sector environment.
• Demonstrated ability to engage with trade unions on employee‑relations matters.
• Experience working with the ITRENT case‑management system.
• CIPD qualification (any level) is desirable.

What we offer

• Hybrid working – 3‑4 days remote per week.
• 37‑hour work week (Mon‑Thu 8:30‑17:00, Fri 8:30‑16:00).
