Employment Barrister – Hybrid, London & South East

About the role

This is a permanent, hybrid position for an Employment Barrister within a growing in‑house advocacy team of a national law firm. You will focus on high‑quality representation in Employment Tribunal matters, without the need to manage full litigation files.

Key responsibilities

• Represent clients at Employment Tribunal hearings, from preliminary stages to full hearings.
• Draft pleadings, legal opinions and advisory documents.
• Work closely with solicitors and senior advocates to shape case strategy.
• Support training initiatives for clients and internal teams.
• Provide commercially focused, pragmatic advice to a diverse client base.

Required profile

• Qualified Barrister (or Solicitor Advocate) with 2–5 years post‑qualification experience.
• Strong track record of Employment Tribunal advocacy.
• Excellent drafting and oral presentation abilities.
• Commercial awareness and a client‑first mindset.
• Genuine interest in employment law and advocacy‑led practice.
