Employment Paralegal / NQ Solicitor – Stockport

About the role

We are supporting a well‑established law firm in Stockport to hire an Employment Paralegal / Newly Qualified Solicitor. You will join a close‑knit employment team, working on a respondent‑focused caseload that includes both contentious and non‑contentious matters for a range of employer clients.

Key responsibilities

• Assist fee earners with Employment Tribunal claims, including Early Case Assessments and drafting ET3 responses.
• Liaise with clients, tribunals and third parties throughout the life of a matter.
• Review case papers, prepare witness statements and support case preparation for preliminary and full hearings.
• Attend Employment Tribunal hearings to provide support and take detailed notes.
• Conduct legal research and prepare hearing and disclosure bundles.
• Ensure compliance with the firm’s quality standards, Lexcel accreditation and SRA Code of Conduct.

Required profile

• At least 12 months’ experience in employment law, preferably with exposure to Employment Tribunal matters.
• Strong technical knowledge of employment law and procedures.
• Excellent communication, client‑care and organisational abilities.
• High attention to detail and a proactive problem‑solving approach.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
