Employment Solicitor – Senior Level (5+ PQE)

About the role

We are seeking a senior Employment Solicitor with at least 5 years post‑qualification experience to lead the growth of our Employment Law practice in Chester and the wider North West and North Wales region. The role offers a high degree of autonomy, a varied caseload of both contentious and non‑contentious matters, and the opportunity to shape the firm’s strategic direction.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and expand the firm’s Employment Law offering across Chester and North Wales.
• Manage a diverse portfolio of employment matters, including Employment Tribunal litigation and day‑to‑day HR advice.
• Represent clients in Employment Tribunal proceedings and conduct advocacy when required.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients, identifying business development opportunities.
• Network and promote the Employment team to raise its market profile.
• Collaborate with colleagues across the firm to deliver seamless legal advice.
• Contribute to the department’s profitability through effective case management and client service.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years PQE in employment law.
• Proven expertise in both contentious and non‑contentious employment matters.
• Experience of Employment Tribunal advocacy.
• Ability to manage a caseload independently.
• Strong commercial awareness and a proactive business‑development mindset.
• Excellent communication and client‑care skills.
