Energy and Sustainability Lead

About the role

We are seeking an Energy and Sustainability Lead to join our Asset and Development team at Peaks & Plains Housing Trust in Macclesfield. The role will drive the Trust’s environmental strategy, delivering carbon‑reduction initiatives and supporting net‑zero commitments across our housing stock.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Asset Manager in project‑managing the Trust’s environmental strategy action plan.
• Embed sustainability considerations into decision‑making, asset management, procurement, investment planning, customer engagement and service delivery.
• Conduct stock, energy and environmental assessments to develop costed pathways for improving homes.
• Identify and support external funding and partnership opportunities for energy projects.
• Develop and maintain energy and carbon performance data to inform evidence‑based decisions and reporting.

Required profile

• In‑depth knowledge of sustainability reporting, energy‑efficiency standards, decarbonisation and social‑housing regulations.
• Experience managing contractors and grant‑funded energy programmes.
• Ability to write technical property specifications.
• Strong understanding of operational health and safety standards within the building industry.
