Engineering Configuration Manager

About the role

Guidant Global, on behalf of Airbus, is seeking an Engineering Configuration Manager to join the Digital Wing team. The role will oversee configuration management across multiple aircraft programmes, driving digital transformation and ensuring delivery against time, cost and quality targets.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage end‑to‑end engineering change processes across aircraft programmes.
• Coordinate configuration management activities to meet delivery, cost and quality objectives.
• Work cross‑functionally with engineering, programme, airworthiness, manufacturing and other stakeholders.
• Support digital transformation initiatives, including PLM and automation strategies.
• Oversee configuration artefacts such as Engineering Decision Dossiers, Modification Proposal Dossiers, Design Query Notes, Service Bulletins and modification closures.
• Identify risks, propose solutions and champion continuous improvement.
• Contribute to Digital Mock‑Up (DMU) and other digitalisation activities.

Required profile

• Proven experience in configuration management or engineering change management.
• Strong understanding of end‑to‑end change processes.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, complex environment.
• Desirable background in aerospace or engineering.
• Relevant degree, HNC or equivalent experience in engineering or aeronautics.

Required skills

• Experience with configuration and PDM tools such as ICC, MCT, Primes, DPDS, ACC2.
• Digital or data skills including Python, SQL and Skywise.
• Familiarity with Digital Mock‑Up (DMU) concepts.

What we offer

• Hybrid working (approximately 60 % onsite) with a 4.5‑day week.
• Contract until July 2027 with potential extension.
• Hourly rate of £28.41 (PAYE) or £38.00 (Umbrella).
