Engineering Manager

About the role

This role leads the Banking and FX tribe, responsible for payment processing, FX pricing, ledger, reconciliation, bank integrations, FIX connectivity, compliance and the client portal. You will manage a team of six to eight engineers, own delivery and OKRs, and work closely with product, design and stakeholders to ship client‑focused solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Own delivery and OKRs for the tribe, forecast work, sequence tasks and flag slippage early.
• Collaborate with product, design and stakeholders to turn client problems into shipped software, focusing on underlying needs.
• Apply agile principles that deliver real agility: short feedback loops, small changes, and rapid direction shifts.
• Manage the engineering team: one‑ons, performance reviews, hiring, onboarding and career growth.
• Set high technical standards, mentor engineers, conduct design and code reviews, and enforce quality and testing.
• Maintain production services, on‑call rotation, incident response and observability.
• Define the team’s AI usage strategy, leveraging Claude Code while managing its impact.
• Work with compliance and risk to ensure evidence‑backed changes to money‑movement processes.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading and managing engineers, including hiring, performance management and difficult conversations.
• Hands‑on expertise in C#, Azure and SQL, able to review designs and assess risks.
• Background delivering business‑critical, event‑driven services in production.
• Product‑mindset with the ability to articulate client value beyond the roadmap.
• Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to make decisive technical calls.
• Experience building software with AI and working in regulated financial environments.
