Engineering Manager

About the role

Eucalyptus, a consumer healthcare platform supporting millions of patients worldwide, is looking for an Engineering Manager in its London headquarters. You will lead an engineering team to deliver fast, high-quality software across the full customer lifecycle, from awareness and acquisition through to retention, revenue and referral. The role sits at the intersection of engineering, product and growth marketing.

Key responsibilities

• Manage an engineering team or function to drive fast, reliable software delivery.
• Act as escalation point for complex technical and operational issues and resolve them efficiently.
• Balance priorities and optimise team workload to keep delivery predictable without burnout.
• Own data-driven experiments and growth initiatives across the patient journey.
• Refine development processes, workflows and team structures for a high-velocity environment.
• Partner with talent acquisition to recruit, onboard and retain engineers, and foster ownership, psychological safety and morale.
• Work with Product, Marketing and Data stakeholders to align technical delivery with commercial goals.

Required profile

• Proven track record managing an engineering team to fast, high-quality execution.
• Ability to solve escalated issues, optimise workloads and drive continuous improvement in workflows.
• Hands-on experience or strong familiarity with rapid experimentation, A/B testing and software optimised for engagement, conversion and retention.
• Strong communication skills bridging technical delivery, product strategy, growth marketing and commercial outcomes.
• Nice to have: experience in regulated sectors such as healthtech, fintech or gaming.

Required skills

• React, React Native, TypeScript, Go microservices, GraphQL, Kubernetes and GCP
• Comfortable evaluating system architecture and technical estimates
