Engineering Team Leader (FMCG Manufacturing)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Team Leader to join a modern, high‑tech FMCG manufacturing site. You will lead a mixed electrical and mechanical engineering team responsible for keeping automated production lines running at peak efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise day‑to‑day electrical and mechanical maintenance activities across a range of automated and semi‑automated machinery.
• Plan and execute preventative maintenance programmes to minimise unplanned downtime.
• Lead reactive and breakdown maintenance interventions in a fast‑paced environment.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and production performance.
• Manage and develop a team of engineers, ensuring health and safety standards are met.

Required profile

• Proven maintenance experience within an industrial manufacturing or FMCG setting.
• Hands‑on experience with pre‑planned, reactive and breakdown maintenance.
• Recognised engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent).
• Demonstrated team‑leadership capability.

Required skills

• Electrical fault‑finding.
• Mechanical maintenance (motors, gearboxes, bearings, pneumatics, hydraulics).
• Basic PLC fault‑finding (advantageous).
