English Graduate Teaching Assistant – Secondary School (Sept 2026)

About the role

An outstanding secondary school in Greenwich is seeking a motivated English Graduate Teaching Assistant to join its English department from September 2026. This full‑time temporary position offers hands‑on classroom experience for graduates who plan to pursue teacher training.

Key responsibilities

• Support students in English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
• Deliver 1:1 and small‑group intervention sessions focusing on literacy, reading comprehension and essay writing.
• Assist pupils with varying learning needs and abilities.
• Help teachers prepare engaging classroom resources and materials.
• Contribute to raising attainment and building confidence among students.

Required profile

• Degree in English or a related subject.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Passion for education and supporting young people.
