English Supply Teacher

About the role

Academics is seeking enthusiastic English Supply Teachers to work across secondary schools in Guildford and surrounding areas. The role offers flexible, day‑to‑day assignments covering Key Stages 3 and 4, allowing you to gain experience in a variety of school environments while maintaining a work‑life balance.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging English lessons for Key Stage 3 and 4 students.
• Manage classroom behaviour and create a positive learning atmosphere.
• Adapt teaching materials to suit diverse learner needs.
• Collaborate with school leadership and support staff to ensure curriculum continuity.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance and student progress.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching English at Key Stage 3 or 4 (Key Stage 5 desirable but not essential).
• Strong knowledge of the English curriculum and assessment standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare, with an enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one.
