Entry-Level Weapons Trainer (Ex-Navy Engineer)

About the role

This is an entry‑level position with one of the UK’s largest defence contractors, training military technicians on weapons systems. The role is based in Helensburgh and offers a full‑time, 37‑hour week with a clear progression pathway.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver hands‑on weapons training in both simulator and classroom environments.
• Follow pre‑set lesson plans, conduct assessments and monitor trainee development.
• Develop and improve training content and course materials.
• Collaborate with internal teams to enhance processes and ensure health and safety compliance.

Required profile

• Background as a Weapons Engineer, Technician or similar, preferably with Navy or submarine experience.
• Motivation to move from a tool‑based role into an instructor or trainer position.
• Ability to commute to Helensburgh from surrounding areas such as Glasgow, Dumbarton, Clydebank, Renfrew or Alexandria.
