Environmental Advisor – Construction Compliance

About the role

You will oversee and monitor environmental performance on construction projects, ensuring all activities comply with relevant standards and regulations. The role involves regular site inspections, auditing contractor compliance, and producing clear reports on environmental performance and incidents.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor environmental performance across construction sites.
• Audit contractor activities against environmental plans, method statements and regulations.
• Conduct site inspections, document findings and produce clear reports.
• Act as the primary environmental point of contact on‑site, supporting teams and addressing issues promptly.
• Ensure environmental compliance is integrated with health and safety standards.

Required profile

• Experience working on live construction sites in an environmental role.
• Proven ability to check contractor activities against environmental plans and regulations.
• CSCS Card and a valid driving licence with vehicle access.
• Ecology awareness, including knowledge of protected species and habitats.
• Degree or qualification in environmental science, ecology or related field (experience may substitute).
• Health & safety knowledge relevant to construction sites.
