Equipment Tech Lead - Films

About the role

The Equipment Technical Lead will provide technical leadership and ownership of critical thin‑film manufacturing equipment, ensuring reliability, stability and continuous improvement in a high‑performance production environment.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the technical authority for thin‑film equipment, setting performance and reliability standards.
• Serve as the primary escalation point for complex tool issues and drive timely resolutions.
• Partner with tool owners to identify, prioritize and deliver equipment improvements that boost stability and productivity.
• Review programme requirements for feasibility and alignment with operational strategy.
• Challenge CAPEX proposals and continuous‑improvement plans to ensure strong technical justification.
• Lead continuous‑improvement initiatives to increase uptime, yield and efficiency.
• Collaborate with Process Technical Lead on root‑cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Support change‑management activities such as DCNs, ECNs, PCNs, PFMEAs and control plans.

Required profile

• 7+ years of equipment engineering, maintenance leadership or technical ownership in a thin‑film environment.
• Hands‑on experience with deposition tools such as PVD, CVD, ALD, sputtering or evaporation.
• Proven track record of improving tool reliability, uptime and performance.
• Experience with preventive‑maintenance strategies, lifecycle management and tool installations/qualifications.
