Executive Director – Leveraged Finance Credit Risk (Europe)

About the role

As an Executive Director in the European Leveraged Finance Credit Risk team, you will partner with a best‑in‑class Front Office to assess, review and approve leveraged finance transactions across financial sponsors and corporate high‑yield markets.

Key responsibilities

• Lead independent assessment and recommendation of new leveraged finance transactions, engaging with senior decision‑makers and approval committees.
• Own portfolio coverage, provide timely reviews and contribute to monitoring documentation.
• Approve waivers and amendments, determine ratings, evaluate financial forecasts and appetite within the risk framework.
• Participate in due‑diligence reviews and deal calls to shape credit memoranda and decision‑making.
• Communicate credit views based on analysis, macro developments and market trends.
• Support and develop junior team members and contribute to broader bank‑wide projects.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in credit, risk or origination focused on leveraged finance.
• Deep knowledge of leveraged structures, terms and related banking products.
• Strong credit analysis capability, including financial forecasting and modelling awareness.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment while delivering independent credit judgments.
• Proven stakeholder and transaction management skills with excellent written and verbal communication.
