Experienced Bookkeeper for Accountancy Practice

About the role

We are a respected mid‑sized accountancy practice in Hertfordshire seeking an experienced client bookkeeper. You will manage a varied portfolio of clients, delivering accurate bookkeeping, VAT returns and, where applicable, management accounts.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate bookkeeping records for multiple clients.
• Serve as the first point of contact for day‑to‑day bookkeeping queries.
• Provide software support and training to clients.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns in line with HMRC requirements.
• Produce management accounts and reports when experienced.
• Work with cloud‑based and desktop accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage and Dext.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years bookkeeping experience within a UK accountancy practice or outsourcing environment.
• Experience managing a client portfolio is highly advantageous.
• Strong communication skills and a proactive, organised approach.
• Eligibility to work in the UK without visa sponsorship.
