Facilities Supervisor – Grounds Maintenance

About the role

Signet Resources is seeking a hands‑on Facilities Supervisor to lead grounds maintenance across a high‑profile, multi‑site contract in Surrey. You will own day‑to‑day performance, site quality and client relationships, setting standards and rolling up your sleeves alongside the team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and develop a team of grounds operatives across multiple sites.
• Set and enforce benchmarks for grounds standards, productivity, presentation and health & safety.
• Work on‑site alongside operatives during busy periods and peak season.
• Maintain client relationships, resolve issues promptly and professionally.
• Conduct regular site inspections and quality checks to ensure compliance with schedules and specifications.
• Performance‑manage team members, addressing under‑performance constructively.
• Support the Contract Manager with scheduling, resourcing and operational reporting.

Required profile

• Solid grounds maintenance experience with a clear understanding of seasonal requirements.
• Proven people‑management skills, confident in leading and holding a team to account.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Experience managing client or customer relationships on site (highly valued).
• Lead‑by‑example attitude, first to get involved on the ground.
• Well‑organised, reliable and able to drive high standards across multiple sites.
