Facilities Supervisor – Grounds Maintenance Lead

About the role

The Facilities Supervisor will lead the delivery of grounds maintenance across a high‑profile, multi‑site contract in Surrey. Reporting to the Contract Manager, you will own day‑to‑day performance, site quality and client relationships, ensuring standards are met and exceeded.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and develop a team of grounds operatives across the Surrey patch.
• Set and uphold benchmarks for site presentation, productivity and health & safety.
• Work alongside operatives during busy periods, leading by example.
• Maintain client relationships on‑site, resolving issues promptly.
• Conduct regular site inspections and quality checks to ensure compliance with schedules and specifications.
• Performance‑manage team members, addressing under‑performance constructively.
• Support the Contract Manager with scheduling, resourcing and operational reporting.

Required profile

• Proven experience in grounds maintenance with a solid understanding of seasonal work and quality standards.
• Demonstrated people‑management skills, capable of motivating and holding a team accountable.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Experience managing client or customer relationships on‑site is highly valued.
• Organised, reliable and able to drive high standards across multiple locations.
