Family Solicitor – Care Proceedings (1-5 PQE)

About the role

We are seeking a Family Solicitor with 1‑5 years post‑qualification experience to join our specialist family law team in Bristol. The role focuses on representing parents in care proceedings and related public children law matters, offering a supportive environment for professional growth.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of publicly funded family law matters, primarily on behalf of parents.
• Handle care proceedings, Public Law Outline (PLO) cases, pre‑proceedings work and non‑accidental injury applications.
• Provide practical, empathetic advice throughout complex child protection and local authority interventions.
• Collaborate with senior family law specialists and advocates to develop case strategy.

Required profile

• 1‑5 years PQE with solid knowledge of care proceedings and public children law.
• Experience advising and representing parents in local authority cases.
• Strong client care, communication and independent caseload management.
• Commitment to supporting vulnerable clients; Children Panel membership is advantageous but not essential.
