Family Solicitor – Care Proceedings (1‑5 yrs PQE)

About the role

We are seeking a Family Solicitor with 1‑5 years PQE to join a respected specialist family law practice in Bristol. The role focuses on publicly funded care proceedings and related public law matters, offering the chance to support vulnerable families while developing expertise in this niche area.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of publicly funded family law matters, primarily representing parents.
• Handle care proceedings, Public Law Outline (PLO) matters, pre‑proceedings work and non‑accidental injury cases.
• Advise on child protection, local authority interventions and other public family law issues.
• Collaborate with senior family law specialists and advocates to deliver high‑quality representation.

Required profile

• 1‑5 years post‑qualification experience (PQE) in family law.
• Demonstrated experience with publicly funded family law matters.
• Strong knowledge of care proceedings and public children law.
• Excellent client care, communication and independent caseload management.
• Commitment to supporting vulnerable clients; Children Panel membership is a plus.
