Family Solicitor – Hybrid Role in Billericay

About the role

We are seeking a Family Solicitor to join a long‑established regional firm on a hybrid basis. The successful candidate will lead a small department, mentor a trainee solicitor and handle a full administrative workload while enjoying a supportive environment that values work‑life balance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a small family law team.
• Provide mentorship and supervision to a trainee solicitor.
• Manage a caseload focused on public family law matters.
• Represent the firm on Family and Children panels.
• Handle divorce and financial matters for clients.
• Prepare and review legal documents such as petitions, orders and financial agreements.
• Conduct client consultations and provide clear legal advice.
• Liaise with external agencies, courts and other professionals as required.

Required profile

• Proven experience in public family law work.
• Desire to progress into a leadership role.
• Ability to support and train junior staff.
• Commitment to delivering high‑quality client service.
• Strong organisational and administrative skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of divorce and financial law.
• Familiarity with Family and Children court procedures.
