Family Solicitor / Legal Executive

About the role

Eventus Legal Recruitment is looking for a Family Solicitor or Legal Executive to join a growing family law team in Dorking, Surrey. The role is full‑time, permanent and offers a hybrid working pattern with one day per week remote. You will manage a varied, privately‑funded caseload and receive support from paralegals.

Key responsibilities

• Manage your own caseload of family law matters with paralegal support.
• Advise clients on domestic abuse applications under the Family Law Act.
• Prepare and submit child arrangement applications, including Section 8 court applications.
• Handle leave‑to‑remove, change‑of‑name, and alienation‑behaviour cases.
• Draft financial remedy applications, separation agreements, Form E, Section 25 statements and consent orders.
• Provide advice to clients with business interests and work with PODEs where required.
• Assist cohabiting partners with cohabitation agreements and ToLATA 1996 matters.
• Support nuptial agreement work where experience permits.
• Undertake advocacy work or develop advocacy skills with supervision.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor or legal executive with 2‑5 years post‑qualification experience, or newly qualified with strong family law exposure.
• Confident in managing a full caseload independently.
• Committed to delivering sensitive, practical and robust advice.
• Willing to develop advocacy skills and contribute to a collaborative team.

Required skills

What we offer

• Salary between £45,000 and £60,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
