Female Support Worker – Part‑time (12 hrs/week)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Female Support Worker to provide 12 hours of flexible, part‑time care each week for an elderly gentleman with a traumatic brain injury living in Darlington. The role offers a supportive environment where you will help the client maintain independence, safety, and quality of life within his own home.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver personal care, including hygiene and dressing assistance.
• Administer medication according to care plans.
• Prepare meals and support nutritional needs.
• Facilitate social activities, community outings, and meaningful engagement.
• Assist with mobility, transfers, and safe positioning.
• Accompany the client to appointments and outings.
• Work as part of a 2:1 support team, providing 1:1 overnight care.
• Follow care plans and risk assessments to ensure consistent, safe support.

Required profile

• Previous experience supporting adults with complex needs, especially brain injury.
• Proven ability to provide personal care safely and respectfully.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Calm, patient, and proactive attitude.
• Ability to work effectively within a team and on a rota.
