Field Service Engineer – Construction Machinery

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Field Service Engineer to join a growing machinery business in South East England. You will work on a diverse range of SANY construction and industrial equipment, providing on‑site service, diagnostics and repairs across Essex, Norfolk and surrounding areas.

Key responsibilities

• Service, maintain and fault‑find SANY telehandlers, rollers, excavators (1‑75t), material handlers and loading shovels.
• Carry out mechanical, hydraulic and electrical diagnostics and repairs on customer sites.
• Read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics to pinpoint faults.
• Identify and order correct parts, complete service reports, PDI documentation and manufacturer paperwork.
• Communicate with customers and machine operators about repairs, safety requirements and equipment operation.
• Collaborate with Service Controllers, Supervisors, Technical Managers and other Field Engineers.
• Provide technical feedback on recurring faults and suggest improvements.

Required profile

• Proven experience with plant, construction, agricultural or heavy machinery.
• Strong mechanical, hydraulic and electrical fault‑finding ability.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics.
• Experience completing service records and manufacturer paperwork.
• Good IT literacy and confidence using diagnostic software.
