Field Service Engineer – Industrial Machinery (UK & Europe)

About the role

We are seeking a Field Service Engineer to join a fast‑growing company that supplies specialist machinery to the plastics sector. The role involves travelling across the UK and Europe, installing, commissioning and maintaining complex mechanical and electrical equipment at customer sites.

Key responsibilities

• Install, commission and service specialist industrial machinery.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs.
• Diagnose and fault‑find mechanical, electrical and control systems.
• Work on chains, belts, bearings, pumps, valves, hydraulic presses, transformers, PLCs and HMIs.
• Provide technical support and ensure high customer satisfaction.
• Complete service documentation and reports.
• Travel extensively, with assignments lasting up to four weeks.

Required profile

• Experience in the plastics or FMCG manufacturing sector (or strong interest).
• Recognised engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) or equivalent time‑served experience.
• Strong mechanical and electrical fault‑finding abilities.
• Willingness to travel extensively across the UK and Europe.
• Excellent communication and customer‑facing skills.
