Field Service Engineer – Semiconductor (London)

About the role

People First is looking for a Field Service Engineer specialising in semiconductor and RF products. You will provide technical support at customer sites across the UK and Europe, handle product repairs and assist the business development team. The position is permanent, 35 hours per week, onsite with regular travel.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to customer technical queries via email and telephone.
• Prepare repair summaries, quotations and manage the repair process.
• Support the business development team with technical input.
• Install, maintain and troubleshoot RF products at customer locations throughout Europe.
• Ensure compliance with health‑and‑safety and IT policies.
• Travel to customer sites in the UK and Europe as required.

Required profile

• Previous experience or study in Electronic Engineering.
• Competent use of MS Office (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint) at an intermediate level.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Experience working in an engineering environment.
• Soldering experience.
• German or Japanese language skills are a plus.
• IT server knowledge (desirable).
• Knowledge of RF and DC power supplies, impedance‑matching units or plasma chambers (desirable).
• Understanding of workplace health & safety (desirable).
• Experience using RF measuring equipment (desirable).
