Finance Assistant – Belfast

About the role

We are seeking an organised and dependable Finance Assistant to support our Belfast operation. The role combines day‑to‑day transactional finance with purchasing, sales administration and credit control, working closely with engineers, customers, suppliers and our external accountant.

Key responsibilities

• Transfer sales and purchase invoices from Dext into Xero, ensuring accurate coding.
• Prepare creditor payment runs, submit payments to the bank and allocate customer payments.
• Complete regular bank reconciliations and carry out credit control on overdue invoices.
• Process payroll timesheets and forward information to the accountant before month‑end.
• Order parts, materials and chemicals, follow up deliveries and coordinate local courier collections.
• Raise daily invoices in Business Central, send laboratory sample reports and handle customer enquiries.
• Prepare monthly financial forecasts, analyse revenue and inter‑company costs, and report work‑in‑progress.
• Assist with stock takes, answer telephone calls and provide general administrative support.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a finance assistant, accounts assistant, purchase ledger, sales ledger or a similar role.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy environment.
• Comfortable working with numbers and communicating professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
