Finance Assistant – Graduate Opportunity (AAT)

About the role

This Finance Assistant position is aimed at recent graduates or candidates completing their AAT qualification. Based in Watford, you will join a supportive finance team, gaining exposure to a wide range of accounting and finance processes while receiving full study support towards ACCA or CIMA.

Key responsibilities

• Raise invoices and credit notes accurately and promptly.
• Produce premium collection reports and process customer refunds.
• Collate and distribute broker commission statements and respond to premium receipt queries.
• Assist with credit control, collection of outstanding debt and analysis for clients' P11D calculations.
• Prepare and upload weekly direct debit collection files to the BACS system and record BACS receipts in Salesforce.
• Process ADDACS and ARRUDS reports and keep records up‑to‑date.
• Identify and recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
• Follow compliance procedures and support vulnerable customers.
• Develop a working knowledge of wider business functions and processes.

Required profile

• Finance degree (or equivalent) or AAT qualified / studying towards AAT.
• Strong understanding of sales ledger processes.
• Excellent numerical, analytical and communication skills.
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Customer‑focused attitude and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
