Finance Assistant

About the role

We are partnering with a well‑established manufacturing and distribution business in Taunton that is expanding rapidly. The Finance Assistant will support the day‑to‑day operations of the finance team in a busy, high‑volume environment.

Key responsibilities

• Process accounts payable and receivable transactions.
• Support bank reconciliations and cash allocation.
• Assist with month‑end closing activities.
• Manage supplier invoices and resolve related queries.
• Support credit control, including chasing outstanding payments.
• Maintain accurate financial records.
• Provide ad‑hoc assistance to the wider finance team.

Required profile

• AAT qualified or part‑qualified.
• Previous experience as a Finance Assistant or Accounts Assistant.
• Good understanding of AP, AR and reconciliations.
• Comfortable working in a high‑volume, transactional setting.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Ability to work on‑site in Taunton five days a week.

Required skills

• AAT qualification.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
