Finance Assistant – School Administration

About the role

The Finance Assistant will join the dedicated finance team at Oaklands Catholic School, supporting the administration of the school’s financial resources. Working Monday‑Thursday 8:30‑16:30 and Friday 8:30‑16:00, you will act as a key liaison between teachers, heads of department and external suppliers.

Key responsibilities

• Enter orders, invoices, staff expenses and direct debits in line with the school’s financial procedures.
• Create and update supplier records, ensuring all invoices are authorised and linked to purchase orders.
• Raise sales invoices for school lettings, chase overdue payments and process BACS transactions.
• Handle weekly banking, cash and online income, and record credit‑card spend.
• Assist the finance desk with school shop sales, recording transactions in Tucasi and managing stock.
• Support the production of trip reports and conduct year‑end stock checks.
• Provide first‑line customer service for finance‑related enquiries.

Required profile

• Highly organised with strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with teaching and support staff.
• Willingness to support the Catholic school ethos, regardless of personal faith.

• BACS payment processing.
