Finance Business Partner – Planning and Reporting

About the role

The Finance Business Partner – Planning and Reporting provides financial leadership for the Trust’s continuous planning process, from in‑year performance reporting to setting the next year’s financial plan. As a senior member of the Finance Team, you will work closely with divisional finance teams, income and contracting, and financial services.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive financial reporting and planning services across the Trust.
• Coordinate the Trust‑wide annual planning process, ensuring consistency of assumptions and financial modelling.
• Produce and continuously improve the financial reporting suite, including performance, forecasting, statutory returns and planning.
• Provide expert financial advice, challenge and assurance to senior leaders and present complex information to executive and governance forums.
• Support reporting to NHS England and system partners.
• Deputise for Deputy Directors of Financial Management and Finance Strategy, Planning and Income as required.

Required profile

• Senior finance professional with experience in financial planning, reporting and analysis.
• Strong ability to interpret financial, workforce and activity data to inform decision‑making.
• Proven track record of delivering high‑quality financial insight and identifying key risks.
• Excellent communication skills for presenting complex information to senior stakeholders.
