Finance Manager / Accountant – Borehamwood

About the role

We are partnering with a fast‑growing business that is investing heavily in its finance function. Reporting to the Finance Director, you will move beyond traditional accounting to shape reporting, strengthen controls and influence strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Own month‑end and year‑end reporting, delivering accurate financial information.
• Prepare monthly management accounts with insightful commentary and variance analysis.
• Produce statutory financial statements in line with UK accounting standards.
• Maintain general ledger integrity and manage complex balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Support budgeting and forecasting, providing financial insight for growth.
• Analyse performance trends, identify opportunities and drive improvements.
• Collaborate with operational teams and senior management on commercial decisions.
• Strengthen financial controls and continuously improve finance processes.
• Assist internal and external audits and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Contribute to strategic projects, system enhancements and process automation.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification (or near completion).
• Experience as a Financial Accountant or Management Accountant.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge, including statutory and management reporting.
• Proactive mindset with a passion for process improvement.
