Finance Manager

About the role

Our client, a rapidly growing £20m turnover business in Telford, is seeking a Finance Manager to take ownership of the finance function. The role combines strategic oversight with hands‑on operational responsibilities, acting as a trusted business partner for senior leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Produce accurate monthly management accounts within a 10‑day reporting cycle and deliver detailed actual‑versus‑budget analysis.
• Lead annual budgeting and forecasting processes, monitor performance against targets and provide commercial analysis to improve profitability and cash flow.
• Manage day‑to‑day cash‑flow reporting, forecasting, factoring arrangements and credit‑control activities.
• Oversee financial controls and compliance, including VAT returns, CIS administration, Companies House filings, fixed‑asset registers, PAYE and National Insurance liabilities.
• Support year‑end accounts preparation, external audit requirements and develop meaningful management information for the senior leadership team.
• Supervise accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring robust purchase‑order and retention reporting processes.

• Proactive individual comfortable working at both strategic and operational levels.
• Hands‑on approach with the ability to establish and improve financial processes and controls.
