Finance Manager

About the role

University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Finance Manager to join a clinical division and support the Trust’s overarching financial strategy. You will provide comprehensive financial management, deliver proactive service, and help drive the financial performance of a £1bn+ high‑performing NHS organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Provide financial analysis of the division’s clinical and non‑clinical activities.
• Oversee preparation and delivery of monthly management accounts for the division.
• Support the division’s financial strategy and contribute to the Trust’s overall budget planning.
• Collaborate with clinical and non‑clinical managers to ensure accurate budgeting, forecasting and cost control.
• Deliver proactive financial advice and reporting to senior leadership.

Required profile

• Motivated professional with experience in finance within a large public sector or healthcare organisation.
• Strong understanding of NHS financial frameworks and public sector accounting standards.
• Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
• Commitment to delivering high‑quality, timely financial information.
