Finance Manager (Part‑time, £45k FTE) – Plymouth

About the role

This permanent part‑time Finance Manager role sits at the heart of a rapidly growing not‑for‑profit organisation in Plymouth. Working around 30 hours per week with flexible scheduling, you will be based in the city centre with free onsite parking and report directly to the CEO and senior leadership team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day financial management for the organisation and its charitable activities.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and commentary for senior stakeholders.
• Support financial appraisal of new projects, initiatives and funding opportunities.
• Forecast, monitor and report cash flow.
• Prepare budgets, review them and analyse variances.
• Oversee year‑end accounts and assist external audit processes.
• Reconcile balance‑sheet control accounts.
• Manage sales invoicing, supplier payments and aged debtor management.
• Supervise, support and mentor an Accounts Assistant.
• Produce financial reports for trustees and senior management.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial controls, reporting and efficiency.

Required profile

• Experience in a charity or not‑for‑profit environment is desirable.
• Strong analytical mindset with commercial awareness.
• Ability to work autonomously and influence senior decision‑making.
