Finance Manager – Transactional Finance (Temporary, Hybrid)

About the role

This is a temporary, hybrid Finance Manager position based in Chippenham, South West England. The role starts immediately and will run for approximately 3‑6 months, leading a well‑established transactional finance function.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a team of nine transactional finance professionals.
• Oversee day‑to‑day Accounts Payable and broader transactional finance activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Manage workloads, resolve escalated issues and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure robust financial controls, compliance with company policies and audit requirements.
• Support month‑end activities, reconciliations and payment processes.
• Monitor KPIs, identify efficiency improvements and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Partner with Finance, Procurement and operational teams to achieve business objectives.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing finance teams (e.g., Finance Manager, Accounts Payable Manager, Transactional Finance Manager).
• Strong people‑leadership skills with a track record of motivating and developing high‑performing teams.
• Solid understanding of transactional finance processes.
• Excellent communication, organisational and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Strong IT proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to prioritise workloads and thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
