Finance Officer (Income)

About the role
The Hospice of St Francis is seeking a Finance Officer (Income) to manage and report all income streams, ensuring accurate recording, reconciliation and support for decision‑making. Working in a hybrid setting, you will collaborate with fundraising, retail and events teams to maintain robust financial controls.
Key responsibilities
- Process all income sources including fundraising, retail, grants and statutory funding.
- Generate and issue sales invoices promptly and accurately.
- Maintain customer accounts, monitor outstanding debts and carry out debt collection.
- Perform cash counting, reconciliation and liaise with volunteers and cash‑collection partners.
- Manage floats, card machines and cheque processing for events.
- Conduct regular bank and system reconciliations and maintain audit trails.
- Prepare monthly income summaries, reconciliation schedules and highlight variances.
- Provide documentation for audits and support restricted/unrestricted fund schedules.
Required profile
- AAT qualified or part‑qualified accountant, or equivalent experience.
- Strong understanding of financial processes, controls and charity finance (desirable).
- High attention to detail and ability to handle high volumes of transactions.
- Experience in charity finance or multi‑income stream environments is advantageous.
Required skills
- AAT (or equivalent accounting qualification).
- Advanced Excel skills.
