Financial Accountant

About the role

The Financial Accountant will be based in one of our UK offices (London, Reading or Manchester) and will report to the Head of International Finance. The role is responsible for the day‑to‑day accounting of our Monaco entity on a remote basis and provides Group‑level finance support for operations in Spain, the Netherlands and Ireland.

Key responsibilities

• Own Monaco financial accounting and month‑end close, including journal entry processing, general ledger maintenance and timely production of accurate financial results (35%).
• Manage ERP activities – maintain the local Monaco ERP, upload results to the Global ERP and support broader system‑consolidation and mapping exercises (25%).
• Prepare and review balance‑sheet reconciliations, resolve reconciling items and ensure compliance with internal controls, policies and IFRS reporting requirements (20%).
• Provide weekly trading data to shareholders and collaborate with Monaco, Group Finance, Commercial Finance and the Reporting Hub to resolve issues and improve reporting (10%).
• Support internal and external audits, monitor accounting and regulatory changes and contribute to ad‑hoc projects and process improvements (10%).

Required profile

• Proven experience in financial accounting, month‑end close and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS standards and internal control frameworks.
• Hands‑on experience managing ERP systems and performing data uploads between local and global platforms.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multiple finance teams and external stakeholders.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
