Financial Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a Financial Accountant to join the Finance team at GÉANT. The role is hands‑on and central to strengthening accounting, controls, statutory reporting, audit, payroll and tax processes across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead month‑end and year‑end close activities, preparing and reviewing accounting entries such as accruals, prepayments, deferred income and revenue adjustments.
• Perform balance‑sheet reconciliations and ensure supporting documentation is audit‑ready.
• Maintain the general ledger and oversee the fixed‑asset register.
• Process payroll across relevant jurisdictions.
• Coordinate external auditors, prepare audit schedules and statutory accounts.
• Support cash management, cash‑flow forecasting and bank transaction recording.
• Contribute to accounting system and process improvements.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and a passion for accuracy.
• Ownership mindset with a drive for continuous improvement.
• Experience in month‑end/year‑end accounting and statutory reporting.
• Ability to work with financial data, control environments and audit processes.
