Financial Controller – Fintech Lending (Hybrid, London)

About the role

We are partnering with a fast‑growing London‑based fintech lender that supports UK SMEs with innovative lending and cash‑flow products. The company has just closed a significant Series A round and is entering a scaling phase, requiring a hands‑on Financial Controller to own reporting, controls, operations and process improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and analyse monthly management accounts and financial statements.
• Support the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling.
• Oversee cash‑flow and working‑capital management.
• Maintain strong financial controls and ensure compliance with UK accounting standards.
• Identify and implement improvements across finance processes, systems and reporting.
• Provide clear, timely financial information to non‑finance stakeholders.

Required profile

• ACCA qualified (ACA also considered).
• 3–5 years of experience in Big 4, banking or fintech environments.
• Proven experience in financial reporting and management accounts.
• Good understanding of UK accounting standards and regulations.
• Experience supporting audit, controls and finance operations.
• Strong analytical ability with high attention to detail.
• Confident communicator of financial information to non‑finance audiences.
