Financial Controller – Hybrid, Enfield (North London)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join the leadership team of a fast‑growing business in Enfield. This hybrid role combines strategic financial oversight with hands‑on management of the finance function, supporting the company’s operational and financial transformation.

Key responsibilities

• Produce monthly management accounts, board packs, financial analysis and KPI reports.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow planning across the business.
• Provide commercial insight and finance business partnering to senior leaders and department heads.
• Implement KPI dashboards and drive continuous improvement of financial controls and reporting.
• Support migration from Sage to a modern ERP system and develop live reporting dashboards.
• Oversee weekly and monthly payroll, fixed‑asset register and depreciation of high‑value assets.
• Manage quarterly VAT returns and coordinate year‑end audit and statutory reporting.
• Collaborate with external accountants and the Group Finance Director on ad‑hoc projects.
• Review and enhance bonus structures, reward frameworks and performance metrics.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.
• Current experience as a Financial Controller or senior finance role (Finance Manager, Head of Finance, Senior Management Accountant, Finance Business Partner).
• Proven track record managing a small finance team and delivering monthly management accounts.
• Experience in SMEs with turnover up to around £80 million, preferably in manufacturing, engineering, construction, logistics, distribution, transport or wholesale.
• Strong commercial mindset and ability to influence senior stakeholders.
