Financial Controller – Hybrid (London)

About the role

We are recruiting an experienced Financial Controller for a fast‑growing retail organisation in Central London. The role is hands‑on, hybrid (three days in the office) and reports directly to the CFO, offering high visibility with senior leadership and the board.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of accurate and timely management and statutory financial reports.
• Oversee multi‑entity accounting, financial controls and compliance with accounting standards.
• Produce board and management reporting, delivering meaningful analysis and commercial insight.
• Manage cash‑flow forecasting, working capital, treasury activities and financial planning.
• Support funding relationships, external advisers, auditors and other key stakeholders.
• Provide technical accounting expertise and ensure robust financial governance.
• Lead, mentor and develop a small finance team while driving process improvements.
• Contribute to finance systems enhancements and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
• Proven experience as a Financial Controller or in senior finance leadership.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge, including statutory reporting and audit management.
• Proactive, hands‑on approach with ability to operate strategically and operationally.
• Confident communicator capable of influencing stakeholders across the business.
• Retail, consumer goods or fast‑paced commercial experience is advantageous.
