Financial Controller

About the role

We are seeking a Financial Controller on a 6‑month contract to temporarily oversee the financial operations of a leading private‑equity firm. The role requires immediate availability and will involve managing day‑to‑day finance activities, ensuring compliance, and supporting portfolio companies.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily financial operations and maintain accurate records.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements for the firm and its portfolio companies.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow management processes.
• Ensure tax compliance and oversee tax filings for the firm and its funds.
• Oversee internal controls and ensure strong financial governance.
• Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits.
• Monitor fund‑level reporting, including performance metrics and investor reporting.
• Review and streamline accounting processes, implementing best practices.

Profile required

• ACA, ACCA or equivalent accounting qualification.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in financial services, with at least 2 years in private‑equity or a similar investment environment.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP.
• Experience with accounting software and financial systems.
