Financial Controller

About the role

Pattern is seeking a senior, hands‑on Financial Controller to own the core financial control environment for its European operations. You will be responsible for revenue recognition, partner invoicing, statutory reporting, audit, and the finance infrastructure that supports a multi‑brand, multi‑marketplace business across three legal entities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the month‑end close for UK, German and Polish entities, reviewing journals, managing deadlines and preparing schedules.
• Maintain detailed reconciliations of all balance‑sheet accounts, including intercompany positions, accruals and pre‑payments.
• Manage statutory audit processes and prepare annual financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP / FRS 102.
• Oversee accounts receivable, ensuring timely collections and effective aged‑debt management.
• Implement and monitor internal controls to ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
• Partner with commercial and operations teams to align financial data with marketplace revenue, fees, storage costs and internal operational expenses.
• Respond to ad‑hoc information requests from internal and external stakeholders, escalating issues when necessary.
• Support unit‑economics analysis and brand‑level profitability reporting by ensuring data integrity in Netsuite.

Required profile

• Senior‑level finance professional with hands‑on experience in multi‑entity accounting.
• Proven ability to lead a small accounting team and collaborate with global finance partners.
• Strong knowledge of UK GAAP and FRS 102 statutory reporting requirements.
• Experience managing statutory audits and month‑end close processes.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
