Financial Controller

About the role

We are seeking a qualified, commercially‑minded Financial Controller to lead the finance function for our UK and Hong Kong operations. Reporting directly to the Board, you will own the full finance cycle, from daily cash‑flow management to month‑end reporting and year‑end accounts.

Key responsibilities

• Perform bank and credit‑card reconciliations for UK and Hong Kong entities.
• Manage day‑to‑day cash flow, authorise spend and process ad‑hoc payments.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and KPI packs for the Board.
• Analyse financial data to support strategic decision‑making and business development.
• Handle payroll, commission payments and related tax filings, including quarterly VAT returns.
• Coordinate year‑end accounts, budgeting and statutory reporting with external accountants and auditors.
• Maintain finance trackers, reconcile them with the CRM and oversee insurance renewals.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant with solid experience in SME finance environments.
• Commercially minded with strong analytical abilities.
• Comfortable working autonomously and liaising with senior leadership.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Sage 50 accounting software.
• Experience using Xero, with the ability to lead a system transition.
