Financial Controller

About the role

We are partnering with a well‑known consumer business to hire an experienced Financial Controller. This senior finance leadership position will support commercial decision‑making, ensure the integrity of financial reporting, and drive continuous improvement across a fast‑moving, multi‑site organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all financial control activities, including monthly balance‑sheet reviews and reconciliations.
• Own month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close processes and ensure accurate statutory reporting.
• Prepare consolidated management reports to support executive decision‑making.
• Coordinate statutory reporting, external audit requirements and regulatory submissions.
• Drive continuous improvement of financial controls, governance and reporting processes.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow planning activities.
• Partner with operational and commercial teams to provide financial insight and challenge.
• Manage and develop a small finance team, fostering a high‑performance culture.
• Act as the primary contact for auditors, tax advisors and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification.
• Strong experience in financial control and statutory reporting.
• Background in retail, consumer, hospitality, leisure or other multi‑site environments.
• Proven ability to manage and develop finance teams.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑moving, changing environment.
