Financial Controller – Lead Finance for Rapid Growth

About the role

Soapworks is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead its finance function as the business scales from £20 million to £70 million in annual bar soap production. Based in Glasgow with remote working on Fridays, you will join the leadership team to drive financial excellence, support strategic decisions and safeguard profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and maintain robust financial controls and reporting processes.
• Produce accurate, timely management accounts and financial statements.
• Support investment decisions and shape long‑term financial strategy.
• Manage risk, cash flow and budgeting for a fast‑growing manufacturing operation.
• Lead, develop and mentor the finance team.
• Collaborate with senior leaders to align financial performance with commercial goals.

Required profile

• Fully qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA with solid experience in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
• Proven track record of leading a finance team and delivering high‑quality financial reporting.
• Experience working with business intelligence (BI) tools.
• Knowledge of contract manufacturing within food, personal care or related sectors is desirable.

• Salary £65,000‑£75,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
