Financial Controller – Luxury Resort

About the role

The Financial Controller will manage the day‑to‑day financial operations of Cameron House, a 5‑star resort on Loch Lomond, and support the Finance Director in achieving group‑wide financial goals. Working closely with the senior leadership team, the role ensures robust governance, accurate reporting, and data‑driven decision making across the property.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver accurate monthly management accounts on time.
• Maintain internal controls, safeguard assets, and ensure compliance with statutory, tax and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate year‑end processes and external audits, adhering to group financial policies.
• Analyse financial performance across all revenue streams, monitoring KPIs such as ADR, RevPAR, GOP, payroll ratios and cost of sales.
• Provide variance analysis and performance insights to the Resort Director and Finance Director.
• Support the annual budgeting process, produce rolling forecasts and conduct variance analysis.
• Identify financial risks and opportunities to protect margins and profitability.
• Oversee accounts payable, receivable, payroll, income audit and purchasing controls, ensuring effective stock and cost management.
• Lead, develop and mentor the on‑site finance team, acting as a trusted business partner to operational leaders.

Required profile

• Significant finance experience within a hotel or resort environment.
• In‑depth understanding of multi‑outlet hospitality finance and related KPIs.
• Proven ability to maintain strong internal controls and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis processes.
• Leadership experience with the capability to develop and mentor finance staff.
