Financial Controller – PE-backed Consumer Business (Hybrid, London)

About the role

We are partnering with a private‑equity backed consumer business in South‑West London to hire a hands‑on Financial Controller on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Group Controller and working closely with the Head of Commercial Finance, you will own daily financial operations and provide strategic insight to support high‑level decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of annual statutory accounts and consolidated group financial statements.
• Produce monthly management accounts and board‑level reports.
• Oversee all financial processes to ensure smooth day‑to‑day operations.
• Control budgets through stakeholder engagement and cost‑saving initiatives.
• Simplify financial processes for non‑finance teams.
• Provide tailored financial summaries to senior leadership.
• Supervise a small finance team (3‑4 members).
• Manage payroll, commissions, bonuses and pension contributions.
• Coordinate year‑end procedures and annual audit preparation.
• Handle annual insurance renewals and related compliance.

Required profile

• Qualified chartered accountant (ACA, CA or ICAS) from a top practice.
• Proven experience in financial reporting and control within a corporate environment.
• Track record of delivering accurate statutory accounts and management reporting.
• Experience in retail or consumer sectors is advantageous but not essential.
• Relationship‑focused with a commitment to streamlining processes.
