Financial Controller – PE-backed Consumer Business – SW London (Hybrid)

About the role

We are partnering with a private‑equity backed consumer business in South‑West London to hire a hands‑on Financial Controller on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Group Controller and working closely with the Head of Commercial Finance, you will own daily financial operations and support strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of annual statutory accounts and consolidated group financial statements.
• Produce monthly management accounts and board‑level reports.
• Oversee all financial processes to ensure smooth day‑to‑day operations.
• Manage budget control, engage stakeholders and drive cost‑saving initiatives.
• Simplify financial processes for non‑finance teams and provide tailored financial summaries to leadership.
• Supervise a small finance team (3‑4 members).
• Administer payroll, commissions, bonuses and pension contributions.
• Coordinate year‑end procedures, audit preparation and annual insurance renewals.

Required profile

• Qualified chartered accountant (ACA, CA or ICAS) from a top practice.
• Proven experience in financial reporting and control within a corporate environment.
• Track record of managing budgets and leading finance teams.
• Retail or consumer‑sector experience is advantageous but not essential.
• Relationship‑focused with a commitment to streamlining processes.
